The Practice Staff

Practice Manager
Our practice manager, Mark Robins, oversees the day-to-day administration and operation of the practice.

Nurses
Jane Tutton, Kate Lockhart, Clare Sharland, Paula Say, Jo Neate, Michelle Bonsey and Christine Taylor assisted by our health care assistants Jo Dellimore and Julie Cambray. Our nurses see patients by appointment. They are involved in all the screening programmes as well as taking blood samples, ear syringing, routine blood pressure checks, undertaking cardiograms and cervical smears. They can offer advice on numerous health topics including travel advice. All are competent and fully qualified for their roles.

Administration
In addition to the practice manager, we have two medical secretaries, and an administration team which looks after the office functions of the practice.

Receptionists
Mrs Pauline Denyer is the senior receptionist and has a team of 16 other receptionists to undertake the day-to-day work of reception which includes looking after the front desk, booking appointments, dealing with general enquiries and providing support for other areas of the surgery. All our receptionists will respect patient confidentiality in the course of their duties.

Health Visitors
There are health visitors attached to the practice. They are based at Park Surgery and have special responsibilities to mothers and children.

District Nurses
The district nurses are based at Park Surgery and care for patients who need nursing at home.

Midwives
The practice is supported by three midwives from the Badger Team based at St Francis Surgery.

GP Assistants

The practice employs some general practitioners as assistants. Although these doctors are fully trained general practitioners, they are not partners and do not therefore have to share in the running of the practice.

Registrars

Sometimes registered doctors who have had extensive hospital experience and who hope to enter general practice will be invited to join the practice for six months or a year to gain insight into the problems with which we deal. The receptionist will tell you who they are when you book an appointment with them. They are fully trained, capable doctors and under our supervision. Please accept them as one of us.

Training

We often have students with us, both medical and nursing. A student may be present when you book and/or when you attend for your appointment (if you are in agreement). We occasionally take part in research projects and you may be invited to participate. You do not have to participate in any medical research or training - please tell us if you do not wish to do so.
